It has been a good planning year for our class! We participated in the Cornell Freshman Book Project, Homecoming, Frozen Apple Hockey Game reception and countless regional events. We have continued to improve our class communication channels and are wrapping up plans for our 40th Reunion.
We encourage you to keep in touch with your classmates through the following channels:
- Like our Facebook page to stay connected (tell your friends too!):
- Bookmark our newly redesigned class website share what you've been doing by filling out the "questionnaire" and read about classmates under "profiles".
- Please, update your address and contact info so we can send you important news. Let your friends know to keep their information up to date!
- Submit interesting news and stories for our Class Notes
- E-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org with feedback and please share any photos or memorabilia for our class website. We're particularly looking for photos from past reunions and memorabilia to feature on our website timeline.
Plan to attend June 8-11, 2017
Our reunion Committee of Cara Lebowitz Kagan, Donna Darragh Copley, Donna LaVallee, Geoff Gailey, Karen Lipton Wellin, and Halsey Knapp have been very busy putting together an exciting and fun weekend agenda!
From left to right, Donna Copley, Len (Cara's husband), Halsey Knapp, Cara Kagan, and Geoff Gailey. Karen Lipton Wellin and Donna LaVallee are not in the photo.
In preparation for this milestone occasion our Reunion Committee attended Reunion Kickoff Weekend on campus in September. We are going to be headquartered in Keeton House on West Campus with beautiful views. All the rooms in William Keeton House are air conditioned.
Please come back for a wonderful weekend on campus with friends old and new! Enjoy the nostalgia of a Hot Truck dinner, a reception on the Willard Straight Terrace and the Memorial Room, followed by a dinner in Okenshields, a barbecue lunch at Beebe Lake, a reception at the Big Red Barn and dinner at the Physical Sciences Building overlooking the Arts Quad. Finally there will be a fabulous brunch on Sunday. It's the last chance to connect with former classmates and the new friends you may have made.
We are in the process of planning a few more surprises and will get you more information when these plans are finalized. We're looking for suggestions of classmates who have enjoyed a noteworthy accomplishment to be featured at the breakfast “Class Forum” Discussion. We're also looking for class musicians who would like to play our favorite songs from back in the day at the Friday Cocktail Reception Class of ’77 All-Star Rock and Roll Review. If you or someone you know might be willing to volunteer please email the committee at email@example.com.
In the meantime, please reach out to your friends and encourage them to come back to campus. Reunion is a family friendly occasion so please feel free to bring your children.
Our class is more than reunions though; it is our connection with each other and to Cornell. I encourage you to explore all the social media sites mentioned above and consider volunteer opportunities with our class and Cornell. We are interested in new Class Council members for our next 5 year term. Please contact me if you are interested.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge all our past leaders who have guided the class for the last 40 years and especially our Reunion Chairs, who made all our past reunions possible. In addition to our current Officers, Sheryl Checkman, Laurie Robinson, Chuck Ortenberg, Cara Kagan, Donna Copley, Geoff Gailey, Halsey Knapp, C Anne Vitullo, Donna Fulkerson LaValee, Karen Lipton Wellin, our past Presidents, Brian Dunn and Kevin Brew and Officers Brenda Jacobs, Jane Klein Epstein, Don McLeod, Kathy Murphy, Mike Murray, Mike Nolan, Chris Podd, and everyone else!
Thank you all for the opportunity to serve as your Class President.
President, Class of 1977
