Memories from Reunion 2016
Dear Members of the Class of ’56,
Click here to view the wonderful 60th Reunion Notebook “Cayuga Memories” desk-top published by classmate Judy Frankel Woodfin and distributed to the more than 100 classmates who attended our recent 60th Reunion. (Reminiscences from all: attending or not.)
For our 60th, my Reunion co-chair, Cid Brandon Spillman, and I tried to present a program with a broad appeal to those attending. Included, were a talk by one of the current “star” professors at the University, a special bus tour of the campus by an expert in Cornell’s history, the naming of a shell donated to the women’s crew team by a member of our class, a talk by classmate Jon Lindseth on his amazing “Alice in Wonderland” project, and a lovely reception honoring the Class of ’56 hosted by the Rare Books and Manuscripts section of the Library. We made sure to allow lots of spare time for individual pursuits.
At our class lunch/meeting, re-elected class officers Ernie Stern and Joe Henninger presented our honored guest, President Rhodes, with a check for a record-breaking $38 million from our class! And at our Saturday banquet, held at the stunning, brand new Klarman Hall, Chris Oechsli, head of the Atlantic Foundation, joined us at the head table.
Next step: our 65th at the Statler.
All the best,
Carole Rapp Thompson
