Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network (CAAAN)
A Message from the General CAAAN Chairs for Long Island
Dear Fellow Cornell Alumni:
It may surprise you to learn that there are over 250 CAAAN volunteers on Long Island who are assisting the Cornell admissions community in recruiting superior undergraduate applicants. Our CAAAN members encourage students to consider Cornell as a place to further their education by developing and maintaining contacts with students and high school faculty at Long Island high schools. Our CAAAN activities personalize the admissions process for both students and their parents.
CAAAN members are involved in a variety of activities, the biggest of which is contacting local candidates who have submitted their application, to answer questions, provide a positive perspective on the University, and accumulate additional information about the applicant. Other activities often include helping staff college fairs, conducting book award programs, hosting receptions and coordinating bus trips to campus.
If you are interested in becoming an active CAAAN member please contact us. For further information about CAAAN please visit the CAAAN web site at http://caaan.admissions.cornell.edu/index.cfm. We hope to see you at a future CAAAN event.
Very truly yours,
