Wondering why you haven’t received your copy of the CAAW Calendar in the mail? In support of Cornell’s efforts for a sustainable environment, CAAW is transitioning to electronic communications as part of the pilot program, Cornell Connect. This will save money, time and trees. Reservations and payment for CAAW events will also be done online. Please keep an eye out as Alumni Affairs implements CornellConnect. This new system is helping to streamline the way Cornellians access information. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. Check out our page on Twitter (http://twitter.com/CAAWConnect) for the latest events.
Who Says There's No Free Lunch?
Another late breaking development: CAAW has gone DUES FREE. With the support of Cornell Alumni Affairs, we will no longer collect annual dues.
What's in Store
Through the summer, the CAAW board has been planning and organizing another exciting year of events that we hope will motivate you to join fellow Cornellians, friends and parents to learn, laugh and connect. This year promises to be another year full of exciting Cornell events offering something for everyone. But, we need you!
Come out and support events. New faces are not only welcome, but also needed to ensure our continued success.
Interested in taking your input it a step further? Accept this invitation to help lead your CAAW. Specifically, if you are interested and able to help with a Cornell listserv to Westchester alums, we need you! The “Meet the Professor” speaker program is transitioning to “Cornell on the Road” and we need an alum to spearhead this program. Enjoy working with high school guidance counselors? Volunteer to coordinate the annual Westchester Book Award. Please contact me at LDF8@cornell.edu for further details.
Let us know your feedback on events and ideas for interesting future activities.
CAAAN | Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network
You may be surprised to learn there are over 250 CAAAN members in Westchester assisting the Cornell admissions community in meeting its primary goal of identifying and attracting Westchester applicants. CAAAN members encourage students to consider Cornell as a place to continue their education by developing and maintaining contacts with students and faculty at Westchester secondary schools.
The activities of CAAAN Westchester personalizes the admissions process through contacts with candidates for admission by answering questions about Cornell, and by providing a positive perspective on the University. You'll find our outreach activities to prospective students, including help at College Fairs, Accepted Student Receptions, and the Freshman sendoff, in the 'Events' area of this website and our communications.
To become a CAAAN member, register at http://caaan.admissions.cornell.edu.
Contact any of the CAAAN Ambassadors to learn how you may become more involved in CAAAN in your community, discover our activities and the many neighborhoods we reach.
Very truly yours,
Fran Rubenstein '70 and Larry Rubenstein '66
