The Cornell Club of Greater Philadelphia's Rumsey Scholarship Fund
The Cornell Club of Greater Philadelphia is one of the most active local alumni clubs as far as awarding scholarships.
The Club's George Rumsey Scholarship
Fund was established in 1963 with a legacy of $100,000.00 from George
Rumsey, a noted industrialist and a member of the Class 1896. Since
1998, the fund has been managed by the Cornell Long Term Investment Pool
and has a current value over $500,000. Each year the Club awards
Philadelphia-area students scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 for
each year of attendance at Cornell. The scholarships are based on
financial need information obtained from Cornell.
We encourage you to make tax deductible contributions to the Rumsey
Scholarship Fund. Your contributions to this fund support the mission of the Club, show commitment to the Greater Philadelphia region, enhanced
alumni relations and demonstrate to the student recipients the long term
commitment that our alumni have to Cornell. The scholarships are always
gratefully received and acknowledged by the students. Club members
interested in participating in the selection process are invited to
attend the annual selection meeting in June.
