News from the CACO Board
Our November 2021 newsletter mentioned how thrilled we were to hear from almost 300 respondents to our class officer survey, ranging in graduation year from 1948 to 2020. The results confirmed that Cornell class officers are well-equipped to handle their duties, but gave us insights as to which roles, like class council members, are highly engaged but may need additional guidance on specific responsibilities. Over one-third of respondents indicated they would like additional support in communicating with their class; we will continue to model that as a board (including experimenting with a new newsletter format here!) and think of ways we can help you in messaging and engagement. We’re also happy to hear that two-thirds of respondents know that our class officer toolkit is just a click away if you’re in need of assistance. Additionally, we hear you on your desire to share ideas, questions, and discussions with other class officers outside your year, and we’ll continue to think about how we can facilitate those connections. This is just a preview of some of our findings – you’ll hear more details about the survey results at the CACO Annual Meeting in March.

CACO Annual Meeting: March 21, 2022

Save the date! All class officers will receive registration details in mid-February to attend CACO’s Annual Meeting, which will be held virtually at 7pm EDT on March 21 ahead of Leadership Week. You’ll hear directly from the CACO Board regarding committee updates and other news. Leadership Week registration details will be shared in late February.

Class Officer Nominations (’2s & ’7s)

Nominations are now open for class officer positions for the classes of the 2s and 7s through February 17. Submit a nomination today and encourage other classmates to get involved an important step in passing the torch and bringing new volunteers into the fold. You and other classmates can submit nominations in CUVolunteer via the individual class communities.

Alumni-Elected Trustee Candidates
Starting February 1, all Cornell alumni can begin voting to elect two new members to the Board of Trustees, who are vested with “supreme control” over the university. Read about all four candidates here. Submit your vote by February 28, and remind your classmates to do the same. This volunteer toolkit can help!
