News from the CACO Board

Looking back…
We were pleased to connect with so many Cornellians during Leadership Week in late March. If you missed any of the events, you can catch up with the recordings posted online. If you missed CACO’s Annual Meeting, the recording and transcript are also available online now. One particularly special event that I encourage everyone to watch is the President Frank H.T. Rhodes Celebration of Life, which was held in Sage Chapel during Leadership Week. The event honored the accomplishments of Cornell’s ninth president and featured remarks from his family members, trustees, and current and former administrators.

Looking forward…
A moment that we’ve all been waiting for is finally approaching: next month, I’ll be back in Ithaca for Reunion Weekend! The CACO Board is thrilled to celebrate the newest recipient of the William “Bill” Vanneman ’31 Outstanding Class Leader Award, Linda Jarschauer Johnson ’60, MS ’63. We will be honoring Linda and her work on Saturday, June 11th during Reunion Weekend as a part of Cornelliana Night, which will be held this year in Schoellkopf Stadium! Please join us in congratulating Linda on this very well-deserved honor. Read more about Linda’s long volunteer career and see past recipients of the award here.

Reunion 2022: June 9-12

Registration for Reunion for the classes of the ’2s and ’7s, professional schools, and Chorus is now open! Find more information about the schedule and logistics on the Reunion website, where you can also see who’s coming, review FAQ, and create your itinerary. Not able to make it in person? Register for the Virtual Reunion package for access to livestreamed programming throughout the weekend.

Accessibility Resources Now in CACO Class Officer Toolkit

We have added accessibility tips for social media pages in the online communication section of the CACO Toolkit. As a reminder, the Toolkit is updated periodically with evergreen information, best practices, and resources, so check it out if you have a question!

Class Correspondent Office Hours
Earlier this month, CACO’s Officer Training Committee hosted virtual “Office Hours,” a casual, peer-directed conversation that connected class correspondents with one another. We were happy to witness a robust discussion with plans to meet again in the future! Big thanks to the Officer Training Committee and several superstar correspondents for hosting this session!

Best in Class

Last month, during Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 18-23), Cornell’s Alumni Affairs Class Programs team featured special shout-outs to some stellar “Best in Class” alumni volunteers. Check out the CACO Facebook group to see all the posts and find out more. Pictured here, Dillon Sumanthiran and Austin Rae Haycox, co-presidents of the Class of 2020!

Cornell Adult University (CAU)
Registration is open for CAU! Enjoy weeklong classes on campus between July 10 and 30, 2022.
