The Cornell Alumni Association of Greater Houston (CAAGH) serves as the local Cornell alumni club for over 2,000 alumni in the area. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, CAAGH is a well-established, active organization that seeks to help Houston-area alumni reconnect with Cornell.
Connecting Past, Present, and Future Cornellians
Throughout the year, CAAGH sponsors a variety of social, cultural, and educational events, allowing for numerous opportunities to mingle with fellow Cornell alumni. In addition, CAAGH strives to reach out to prospective students and support current students. Local Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network (CAAAN) volunteers are involved in such recruiting activities as contacting local applicants, staffing college fairs, and hosting receptions. For current Cornell students, the club awards about $15,000 in scholarships annually to Houston-area students eligible for financial aid.
CAAGH is led by local alumni volunteers. We are always looking for more alumni to get involved. We can accommodate even those with minimal availability. If you are interested in learning more, please contact CAAGH President, Kathy Ko '08, or Vice President of Membership, Joanne Bush '01.
Become A Member
You do not need to pay dues to be a member or attend most events. We are a "dues optional" club. All Cornell alumni in the greater Houston area are "members." That said, CAAGH relies exclusively on the financial support from tax-deductible membership dues to support our alumni events throughout the year and contribute to an endowed scholarship that allows CAAGH to award $15,000 in scholarships annually to Houston-area Cornell students with financial aid needs. We recently revised the dues paying membership program to provide certain benefits, including priority access to discounts on some events. To become a dues-paying member or to learn more about dues-paying membership, please click here or contact CAAGH Vice President of Membership, Joanne Bush '01.
The Cornell Alumni Association of Greater Houston seeks to fulfill the following objectives:
To reach, attract, and serve increasing numbers of Cornell alumni through quality programs that promote awareness, interest, and involvement in Cornell; to help attract and support highly qualified students to attend Cornell; to provide service to fellow Cornellians and the University; and to help connect Cornellians with the world-wide Cornell community.
