Welcome to the Cornell Asian Alumni Association!

About the Cornell Asian Alumni Association

CAAA was founded in 1990 to serve the needs and interests of Asian alumni, Asian students, and the University. We sponsor activities and events that help promote community and connectedness among our alumni members including professional development and social networking events, undergraduate support activities, guest speakers and community service. Each year, CAAA awards two Cornell Tradition Fellowships and one Scholarship to Cornell students.

Mission Statement

CAAA's mission is to serve as the bridge to connect alumni, students, and the university, celebrating the proud legacy of the global Cornell Asian community. CAAA seeks to be a globally connected network where students and alumni celebrate and contribute to the legacy of the Cornell Asian community.

Programs and Activities

Reflecting the broad interests of its membership, CAAA sponsors a number of different events, ranging from social get-togethers to career development seminars. It also supports the University with fundraising and interacting with undergraduates. CAAA often partners with its fellow Cornell diverse alumni organizations, the Asian Alumni Network (a consortium of Asian alumni organizations), and local community partners. Each year, CAAA awards two tradition fellowships and one scholarship to Cornell students.

Social, Educational & Community Service Events

Throughout the year, CAAA organizes a broad range of events to give alumni an opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones. These include dinners series, recreational activities, career development seminars, and lectures. The NYC Pan-Asian Banquet is CAAA’s signature event, which is held to recognize prominent alumni while raising funds for its scholarship and fellowship programs. CAAA provides support to worthwhile community projects and encourages its members to participate in their local neighborhoods to make a difference.

Supporting & Partnering with the University

CAAA offers two Cornell Tradition Fellowships and the CAAA Scholarship to recognize outstanding Cornell students who best demonstrate a commitment to helping themselves through their work, academic achievement and volunteer community service. Since 1992, CAAA has raised nearly $150,000 for scholarship funds and has awarded 18 grants to Cornell students.

In addition to the fellowships and scholarship, CAAA believes that Asian alumni can add a new dimension to areas such as admissions, financial aid, and policy development. Thus, it encourages all alumni to become more involved in the life of the University. CAAA members help identify the next generation of Cornellians by participating in the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network and college fairs. CAAA contributes to Cornell's financial well-being by establishing scholarships and participating in the University's fundraising efforts.

CAAA is actively identifying unique ways to collaborate with the University to enhance Cornell’s Asian community’s visibility and influence in the greater Cornell community. If you have any suggestions, please contact caaa@cornell.edu.
