Cornell friends from the Class of 1975 are pictured on the loose in Philadelphia for their own reunion weekend. They were all freshman together at Sperry Hall. From Left to Right, Susan Brennan, Marilyn Gleason Anthony, Jeanne Salvato and Anne Greenwood (Judith Kinnard joined the group later for cocktails.) Shown here in front of the Magic Garden, which showcases the effulgent mosaic art of Isaiah Zagar.

Wine Cellar Gals United
Fall 1971, five freshmen collided in the halls of Clara Dickson dorm: Margaret Woodruff (Peggy Shull), Caryn Goldsamt Margolis, Anita Picozzi Moran, Judy Cox, and Barbara Oliver.* Assigned to a basement corridor in the otherwise men’s half of Dickinson, the hall was dubbed the wine cellar, and the name stuck.
Fall 2021, during the pandemic, we same gals connect every Tuesday night via zoom. Wine continues to factor in.
Over the years, we’ve gathered in person near our various locales: the coast of Maine, the Hudson Valley, Long Island’s beaches, Washington DC, and Dallas.
Luckily, we squeezed in a 2019 reunion to toast our 65+ mark, and (fingers crossed, with vaccines long ago completed) we’ll get away to the Caribbean this October to celebrate 50 years as friends.
Collectively, careers have spanned: nutrition, hospital management, teaching, architecture, communications design, and real estate investment. Family stats tally eleven children (including a Cornellian) and twelve grandkids, so far.
Retired, or nearly, energies go to political rallies, environmental action, racial justice advocacy, tutoring ESL, community fundraising…along with pickleball, kickboxing, triathlons, tennis, and chasing after grandkids.
More to come after our next venture!

Patricia Gray
Cornellians were able to show off their sportsmanship in June at Heritage Museums and Gardens' inaugural Bocce Ball (& BBQ) Tournament, held in Sandwich Mass. Attending were Hostess Patricia Gray, Arts '75, Diane Kopelman Verschure, '74, Ian and Pat Orr, '70, and Susan Jaye Moran, '72. Patricia invites one and all Cornellians to heed the
challenge call for upcoming intercollegiate fun at Heritage.

Besides spending time with my actual family, I really enjoy spending time with my Lambda Sigma Delta (LSD) members. This is an unofficial fraternity that we created as Freshman in 1971 when many of lived on the first floor of University Halls #2. We made up and wore T-shirts, held parties, published a newsletter “The Cornell Nightly Moon” (photograph included), and used Lambda Sigma Delta as our team name for our intermural sports teams. Our crowning achievement was getting our Lambda Sigma Delta picture included in the fraternity section of the 1975 Cornellian yearbook (on page 243, photograph included). Three days before our 1975 graduation (and after the yearbook had already been published and distributed) the university discovered there was no official Lambda Sigma Delta fraternity. This resulted in an intense phone call exchange berating our prank, but all was forgiven when we agreed to “don’t do it again”.
Over the years, many of the Lambda Sigma Delta members have stayed in touch. We often have a summer party, and last year(2019) we had a reunion in Ithaca, complete with Lambda Sigma Delta business cards, pens, and coffee cups (see the attached photograph). Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we now are doing every other weekly Zoom calls.
If there are other Lambda Sigma Delta members who want to reconnect, please send an email to lambdasigmadelta@gmail.com
